Our Story
Barnets was born in 1983 through passion and determination, Mary's vision was simple - be the best. Her genuine love and commitment to Barnets shone through as the salon quickly gained an unrivalled reputation and for many clients we became more than just a salon. Having originally opened as a hair salon we quickly expanded into beauty and throughout the decades Barnets continued to grow and evolve as trends changed. Sadly in 2019, after a courageous fight, Mary lost her battle to a brain tumour.
With a desire to continue Mary's legacy the salon was taken over by her daughter, Kristie, who continues to honour Mary's original vision while embracing new ideas driven by her own commitment to quality and innovation.

Tristan
Senior Stylist
Tris Joined us in 2015 and has been creating head-turning transformations ever since. With a bold and artistic approach he particularly enjoys bespoke colour work and restyles, always tailoring his techniques to suit each client's features.
Having trained extensively with BeautyWorks in both Tape & Nano Hair Extensions Tris is now offering the full hair extensions service.
Nina
Senior Stylist
The longest serving member of our salon family, Nina joined in 1992 and has built an outstanding reputation ever since. With decades of experience she is known for creating timeless styles which enhance every clients natural beauty. Highly skilled in all areas from soft/seamless colouring to perms and restyles - Nina's expertise have earned her a loyal clientele who continue to trust her year after year.
Ellie-May
Stylist
Ellie-May joined our team in late 2025 after completing her NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. With a natural talent for styling Ellie is already proving herself to be a valued part of the salon Alongside working with us full-time she is continuing her training towards her NVQ Level 3 to expand her skills across more advanced colouring, cutting and finishing techniques.
Megan
Beauty Therapist
Since joining us in 2013 as an apprentice Meg went on to achieve her Level 2 NVQ in Beauty Therapy, before going on to achieve her NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy. Meg is best known for her incredible talent in nail art and her ability to enhance natural beauty through lash lifts and tints.
Meg has since expanded her treatment menu to include reflexology, offering clients a calming and restorative therapy which supports overall wellbeing.
Tia
Senior Beauty Therapist
Tia joined us in early 2024 bringing a strong background in the spa industry after completing her Level 3 qualifications. With a passion for results-driven and restorative treatments she specialises in massage techniques including deep tissue therapy.
Tia has introduced advanced services such as microneedling and targeted skin treatments. Her expertise continues to grow as she delivers tailored facial and wellbeing therapies for clients seeking both visible improvements and total relaxation.
